Members & Visitors Club Rules

   HVYC welcomes visitors and guests to our Club grounds.  We truly hope you enjoy your experience.  To fully make this club fun and family friendly we have a few house rules that pertain to its use.
 
 1.) Every Member or Visitor must be prepared to show membership or affiliation upon request when in or about the clubhouse or grounds.
 2.) A Membership card maybe used ONLY by the person to whom it was issued
 3.) Members of organized yacht clubs, AYC or I-LYA, may be admitted to the clubhouse upon display of proper identification.
 4.) Members shall be responsible for the conduct of their guests and must make ALL purchases from the bar for them.
 5.) Shirts and shoes MUST be worn within the clubhouse proper at all times.
 6.) Persons under the age 21 may NOT sit at the bar.
 7.) Children MUST be accompanied by an adult at ALL times when in the clubhouse.
 8.) Children MUST be sixteen (16) years old to play pool, unless accompanied at the table by an adult.
 9.) You and YOU alone are responsible for cleaning your table before you leave the clubhouse.

10.) Bringing of alcohol beverages into the clubhouse by any person is prohibited.  Authorized alcohol deliveries is the ONLY exception.

11.) Beverages purchased at package prices shall NOT be consumed in the clubhouse.
12.) Authorized individuals ONLY behind the bar. (Generally this is to mean bartenders and/or Rear Commodore ONLY).
13.) The bartender (or a Club Officer) may request proof of age from anyone,  under the age of 35, who is requesting to be or is being served within the bar area.
14.) The bartender will refuse service to anyone he/she believes is underage, unruly or likely to be intoxicated.
15.)   Profanity, fighting or misconduct will not be tolerated.  Anyone who is ordered to leave the clubhouse because of behavior, will NOT be allowed in the Clubhouse till reviewed by the Executive Board.
16.) The Closing time of the Bar/Clubhouse is posted and will NOT be extended. Unless a noted special club function is in process or a Executive Board member is present, who determines to extend the closing time.
17.) Club property may NOT be removed or taken from the premises without permission from a member of the Executive Board.
18.) Members and Visitors shall be liable for damage to Club property by willful or negligent acts committed themselves, by their children or their guests.
19.) The Club shall NOT be responsible for loss of property or any other loss sustained by an individual on the premises.
20.) Pets are NOT permitted in the Clubhouse (Guide dogs exempted).  Pets must be restrained and when, within the area of the Clubhouse must be at least ten (10) feet from buildings and sidewalks.
21.) Restrooms and Laundry facilities are made available to members, thru exterior doors.  Please report ANY damage or problems found.  Do NOT beat, kick or otherwise damage equipment or facilities, you WILL be held responsible.
22.) Kitchen use is restricted to Entertainment Officer planned Club meals, approved rented use or upon special consideration and approval of a the Executive Board or an Executive Board Officer.
 
 
 
Marina Rules

  1.) Visitors, We would appreciate your signing of the Visitors Book inside entrance to Club house. Please register your boat with the Dock Master or bar staff.

  2.) All conduct will be in keeping with good manners.

  3.) NO wake or excessive engine noise.

  4.) NO refueling is to be done of any watercraft anywhere on Club property or within Club Channel, EXCEPT at Gas Docks.  Fueling of watercraft is to be done, with engines shut off, all electrical power shut down, cabin doors closed, NO SMOKING and ONLY the person handling the refueling onboard, all others MUST disembark.

  5.) Sailboats are to be operated under power within the channels/harbors.

  6.) All halyards must be quietly secured.

  7.) Excessive or loud music is prohibited after 11 p.m..

  8.) PWC's and dinghies must be secured in wells, on swim platform or removed from channel, when not in use.

  9.) All children under age 12 must wear a P.F.D. while on the docks or within 10 feet of any shoreline, if not under direct supervision of an adult.

10.) Swimming is not permitted in the harbors or other unauthorized areas.

11.) All pets on Club grounds will be kept on a leash and taken to approved marked areas for their exercise.  Owners are responsible for their clean-up.

12.) ALL operators of vehicles driven on Club property, must comply and be legal with the laws of the State of Ohio and/or the City of Oregon.

 

13.) Speed Limit of ALL vehicles on Club Grounds is 5 MPH MAX.

 

   These rules are for the common good of all members and visitors to Harbor View Yacht Club and are listed here so that you may be aware of your responsibility.
   Any member or visitor found in violation of any of these rules, may be warned, disciplined, be expelled from Club grounds and/or membership terminated.
